So so excited to share that “any sense of where we were gone” will be out in the world on January 16, 2026 via Sawyer Editions @sawyer_editions
It’s a live recording of a work in five parts for string quartet, sine tones, prepared piano, field recordings, and chamber ensemble. It steals inspiration from postmodernist fiction, obscure geometry textbooks, and poems about time.
I am deeply and forever grateful to the people who played on this record — alana amore colvin, Arjan Singh, Ceridwen McCooey, Leni Kreienberg, Sathvi Ramaseshan, Sunjay Jayaram, Talia Fuchs, and Will Ruff — for making this music what it is. Truly such special musicians who know how to bring so much of themselves to the music in so many ways. They ROCK
@alanaamore @darth_dogra @cceridwennn @lenikreienberg @sathviseshanmusic @sunjayjayaram @foxvox.music @willruffmusic
Special thanks also to Levy Lorenzo, Finn Carroll, Mari Rubio, and Nate Wooley for helping me figure out how to make this all happen on a stage, and to Andrew Weathers for the mastering work.
Feeling rather sentimental and sweet about releasing on Sawyer Editions as well. I’m remembering several years ago talking with Kory at Eastside about it when it was just the beginnings of a possibility, recording for a couple of CDs on the first batch, and putting stickers on discs while we watched Jackass 2. SE has since gone on to put out some incredible music by composers I had never heard of or had admired for a long time, and I feel really honored to have this music in such good company on a label I truly believe in. (Keep an eye out for the rest of this batch, it’s all reeally good.)
The first track is live now on Bandcamp; you can listen there (and preorder your CD 🤔). Go do that! Link in bio :)

Feeling insane being in the world and this rotting country at the moment but the music is good and important I think. It’s good to be back in Texas for a bit
some screenshots of the Max MSP patch & sub patches you’ll hear if you come to the show on Sunday .. :)
have been working on this in one way or another for the last 2 years. it’s an amalgamation of many different threads of my work, several explorations and interests I’ve sewn up into one patch.
@lenikreienberg will be running it
I hope you can come hear this and the beautiful music of my friends — Sunday April 27, 6 pm, Arnie Lawrence Hall, 55 W 13th St, 5th floor.
(bonus shitty trumpet demo at the end lol — come to the show for the real thing)
